Old Casino Niagara Poker Room

Room

So for those of you that are not aware, the poker room at Fallsview Casino is closed permanently and all poker is ran through the recently renovated poker room at Casino Niagara. Though the games are usually fairly soft at 1-3, the room has introduced a session fee of $6.00 every 1/2 hour. Not a killer, but feels fairly expensive to me. During busy periods there is usually enough tables to keep you from waiting too long. My biggest gripe is that there are seemingly no rewards or incentives for playing there. Don't expect any comps or player points. In addition, though you can get a meal button, you may not bring any food into the poker room which is a pain. Expect to have to wander off to eat. They do offer two weekly MT tournaments which are pretty good. Tuesdays 185 buy in and Sunday 385. There seems to be a couple new managers there that are cutting their teeth and are a little overzealous, but that should fade.

Having played poker in Vegas, Atlantis and Hard Rock, Tampa.we were disappointed in several things: The amount of tables, the antes every 1/2 hour just to play (on. Casino Niagara built a new poker room on level 2 where the old comedy club was. Room is decent, with 26 tables, and no shortage of dealers to open new games based on demand. I have never waited more than 20 min to play. 1/3 NL is soft and, or action 7 days a week. 2/5 NL is better on weekends. 2/5NL at Fallsview was a much better game as you had tourists and gamblers who played and made games great.

I don't see much of these people anymore. 5/10 suffered the most with loss of VIP crowd. The session fees are relatively cheap compared to a rake, and induce more action. Best news for this room will hopefully be the end of this location as Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment won the bid to manage both of these casinos begining summer 2019, and have a 20+ year contract. They also give great comps in their current poker rooms like $10 per day for all players who play 72+ hours per month plus an additional 1.50 per hour for 2/5 players, and an additional 1+ for lower stakes. I hope we will be back at Fallsview soon!
